Where's the Duffy like outrage from the left?

$1:
“The current rules outlining relocation of Ministers’ Office staff have been in place since November 2008 and have applied to every Minister’s Office since that date,” Halle said.

That may be true or, maybe they're insinuating that it's the Conservatives fault their employees abused this rule by an unrealistic amount of money.

Given all the excesses we've seen come to light in less than a year, this seems to be the Liberals new mantra:

$1:
But Trudeau says the Liberals have followed all the rules — created by the previous Conservative government in 2008 — in dispensing relocation assistance.

"We did not create those rules; we are simply following them," Trudeau told a news conference

Where was your outrage in 2008?

My office of ~500 people is relocating to a new location next year and the cost is projected at $11 million. And we're moving only three miles.

$1:
The total cost to the taxpayer to move five PMO staff to Parliament Hill came in at $220,564.11.

$220,564 / 5 = $44,112

$11m / 500 = $22,000

Seems about right when you factor in administrative costs.

Keep in mind I'm not defending PM Potato, just that I know how government rolls with certain things and because of all the stupid pro-union rules and mandated levels of oversight any government activity is always going to be 40% to 60% more expensive than private sector activities of a similar nature.

It's got nothing to do with union rules or government versus private pricing. It's about attracting quality personnel. If the Prime Minister called you up and said "Hey, I'd really like you to join my team. Come to Ottawa and be my adviser on _____________ (insert whatever it is you're an expert in )". What's it going to take for you to accept? Pretty sure you're going to demand that your moving expenses be covered.

This is the way professionals get hired, public and private sector alike. Not minimum wage, unskilled people, experts. You want experts, you have to pay for them. Would you rather the PM was taking advice from someone who doesn't have the credibility or expertise to command moving expenses?

$220K in moving expenses isn't worth worrying about. It's the multiple billions of dollars worth of bullshit ideas that a sick fuck like Gerry Butts has in his head that we should be highly apprehensive about instead.
