Well, Justine did say he was a Quebecker first and Canadian second.
Guess he wasn't lying.

Not overly surprised. Quebec needs all that federal money to suppress anything 'Anglo' and maintain their unique standing within Canada. Personally, I wish they would just separate and get it over with. Western Canada hates Quebec and I really don't think Ontario is all that fond of the frogs either.

While I don't care for this one bit, the news story is from December 21, 2015...next time you might want to post this in the Rants/Raves section instead of news.

Unfortunately that doesn't make it untrue or not news and whether you agree or not this is a case of finding out better late than never.

But, what I found even more disturbing was the fact that he Liberals had been in power just over 2 months when they decided to give the kingdom's riches to Quebec.

I guess it's just payment for them choosing the anointed one over Tom Mulcair and just goes to show anyone can be bought even a province.

I don't think that's quite correct. It's just some Quebecois that aren't liked.

My point was that this is no longer news, and so shouldn't be posted in the news section. :P

And for the record, Trudeau wasn't in power for "just over two months" - he was in office for 6 weeks (Nov. 4 was when he and Cabinet were sworn in) - and most of that time (Nov 14 - Dec 16) was spent sitting in the House.

Odds are, that decision was made well before the election was called and Trudeau had nothing to do with it.

Having said that, I think he should have re-distributed it better, but equalization is a BS form of welfare that will never work in the have-province's favour.

Equalization payments to Quebec is nothing new, I don't know how you can honestly carp about Trudeau "deciding to give away the kingdoms riches". Especially not 6 weeks into the governments term

Unless you Liberal supporters can come up with proof that the conservatives were going to give the same amount to Quebec then my comments stands.

I'm glad to know that news has an expiry date. It'll make my ignoring of anything untoward's the Conservatives have done before yesterday that much easier.

I do believe the term "news" originated from people discussing "new things," "new events," "new happenings," etc. Eventually all the terms got abbreviated into one word, "news." If the news isn't new, it isn't news. It may be old though, so maybe we can make a new word for old events, happenings, and things, "olds," which this story would be.
