Check out the CBC post on this one.

http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/ottawa/sl ... -1.3682541

Doesn't it seem like a few details are obscured, buried or ignored in media coverage of this one.

1. It's happening in Canada

2. Multiple stabbing incidents

3. Muslims.

In fact, shouldn't this be top of the news stuff?

I only know about it, because I have a couple counter-jihadi sites on my blog-roll.

The use of knives in so many attacks show that people have way to much access to these deadly weapons. They should be banned from all use that would stop these senseless attacks.

Yeah, also cars. Ban assault cars and trucks and knives.

Why would it get any more press than the rest of the stabbings in Canada on a daily basis?

Because what's been happening in the rest of the world may be starting to happen here. The possibility demands we have access to the information.

Do you remember how much media the first wave of photo op friendly refugees got? Do you remember all the media for the kid laying on the beach? There should be at least as much if the Mohammedan attacks we see elsewhere are starting to happen here. As a public service if nothing else.

If the circumstances prove the possibility wrong, doesn't matter. There's still a need to know.

Also, let's not pretend we're not interested.

Stabbings aren't new to Canada. They happen daily.

Men of all religions, including Islam, have been stabbing people in Canada for a long time.

I don't think anything "new" is happening.

So many mistakes made elsewhere it's hard to know where to begin as an example of the problem with the "nothing new to see here" approach.

That gang rape on a ferry in Sweden is a good one. The Swedish media went with the 'nothing new here' approach. The print media told their readers some Swedes assaulted a woman on a boat. Not a good thing, but no biggie. It happens. Turned out it was a brutal gang rape by Somalis and that event was just the tip of the rape stats iceberg. It was that sort of Muslims driving up the rape stats that was 'happening all the time'.

But if you don't insist on all the details, even the ones they don't want you to know about you'll never know where you're heading, and before you know it you'll be the proverbial frog in a pan of boiling water, with skyrocketing Muslim crime statistics your media wouldn't tell you about as they began.

So we can learn from the mistakes the Europeans made by insisting the media keep us informed even on details they're uncomfortable with, or we can follow them down the road they took to where they are now, and just tell ourselves "Nothing new. Happens all the time."

Let's keep the focus on this event.

Lots of crimes happen all over without all the details filled in. Maybe the media doesn't know them, maybe they do, but it's not a new tactic by the media to filter the news.

New organizations in Canada are famous for leaving out the fine details of a particular case as it doesn't fit with their overall narrative.

If you want the full story for most news these days, you have to visit a variety of sources.

This particular story is about a stabbing. Hardly a unique event that requires specific case details.

Sure we can focus on this event, except I was under the impression you didn't want to. Did you not want to talk about all the other events you think are similar?

"Nothing new here. Let's consider all the other stabbings." Was that not your point?

But yeah, we can go back to discussing how this particular case is being shabbily covered if you like.

However if you'd prefer now to discuss:

$1:
Lots of crimes happen all over without all the details filled in. Maybe the media doesn't know them, maybe they do, but it's not a new tactic by the media to filter the news.

We can go there too. You're right, 'lots of crimes do happen all over without all the details filled in.' For example remember that recent one the CBC, CTV and others were pretty much blasting over a megaphone into every household shocked over how a woman had her hijab ripped off while shopping. There was a strong insinuation of racism? In fact lefty politicians were tweeting expressions of outrage.

Then there was crickets from the MSM. Why? Because it turned out the perp was an immigrant herself from the 98% Muslim country of Iran.

Around the same time in a different case the Rebel unearthed something like 2700 emails clearly showing there was a major problem in the Maritimes where local high school students were sharing class space with Muslim refugees some of who looked to be more or less men.

Again, it was crickets from Canada's legacy media.

Starting to see a pattern here? And I know you don't want to hear this, but this business of warping news coverage to appear politically correct is also nothing new. It happened in Europe. It doesn't have to happen here. The first thing we must do to prevent it though is notice.

Suppose there were 3 cases of KKK members stabbing people in Ottawa within a 30 hour period.

How much coverage do you think CBC might give that one?

Think you might hear who the perps were?

I have to ask, did you actually read what I wrote?

When you make comments like "you don't want to hear this" it makes me think you didn't read what I wrote of have a comprehension problem.

I agree with your point. However, I'm well beyond belly-aching about it. I know our media selectively reports the news and has done so my entire life. I'm not going to expect them to act any different now, nor should you.

I know that with your obvious anti-Muslim slant you're trying to say the media is covering up that fact. That maybe true but the tactic isn't new nor will it change.

That's funny. On another topic Fiddy and I disagreed because he's far too tolerant of those fucking cockroaches.

(Disclaimer: This post might be handy for illustrating an obvious anti-Muslim slant.)
