We offer a low dollar, that's it.
We are one of the most educated populations on the planet. We are also content, stable, creative, and unusually artistic.

If we were the best and brightest, RIM would be Apple, but they aren't.
Nope, Apple paid better. Which is why they employ so many Canadians. EVen a few that ditched RIM for better opportunities.

There's an old joke in Waterloo, "what do you call a tech company in Canada?" "Six months from bankrupt".
Lots of jokes about American beer too. Doesn't stop their craft scene from storming the top ranks at competitions every year.

We are run by crony capitalism and a near caste system. Let's not pretend somehow all of the technology companies believe they have a better competitive advantage over their competitors by investing in Canadian companies. If they do, I recommend they send over their own U.S based Human Resources and management.
Sure we are. That's why my born to dirt poor immigrants, that illegally made their way into Canada (by accident, no less), currently employs a large number of Canadians born to Canadians.
Must of missed the caste memo. The crony capitalism one too. Lots of big toes I step on, still here, still stepping.
The only people that think that Canada is 'bad' are those that haven't been anywhere else. We have got our warts, but we tend to admit that we have them, and even try to fix them on occasion. Other places, you wouldn't even get the chance to point out the warts, a second time.
*Whoops*
