Man I feel sorry for the people that are locked into contracts and are paying $8 or $9

Depends, because those $8 or $9 contracts were looking pretty good when the price was spiking to $12/15/17. One hand gives, the other taketh away.

At this stage though, with absolutely no sign of the North American gas market going back to those high prices in the short/medium/long-term futures, this is even more impetus and ammunition to justify getting rid of as much coal-based power generation as possible and doing a full switch-over to natural gas. Whatever costs are accrued today in building new generation facilities will be more than made back later with the prices probably permanently low for the next decade. As carbon pricing becomes more important with coal, the biggest source of emissions, removed from the equation that means even more savings from carbon fees that won't ever have to be paid. This should be a no-brainer to everyone on all sides and should be put into effect ASAP.

Those dropping prices and a new set of windows earned me an $800 credit and a $40 drop in monthly gas bills last year. I'm not complaining.
Just a little annoying trying to explain to these BC Northwesterners that no matter how goddam much they WANT it they aren't going to rush building those gas export terminals with the price so low.

No, no, Christie Clark is doing all she can for them. It's those environuts and Indians, if they stepped out of the way we'd have terminals up and down the coast.

So they want you to believe.
Having fun with an "at leaster" in Prince Rupert on another forum. Insists they aren't built already because Christy hasn't given them enough tax breaks and incentives and the feds need to classify gas exports as 'manufacturing' and allow them those tax breaks too.
My favourite type of citizen - the "at leaster".
Well at least this cardboard box I have to sleep in under the bridge is made in Canada
