Far from perfect, like all humans. At least he didn't steal tax payers money.
RIP Mr. Ford.

His public life was a mixed bag, but seemed to be a decent person.
RIP

Well, no one can ever say he wasn't interesting. RIP, and hopefully the pain was at a minimum when it happened.

$1: I wonder if Mary Walsh is going to show up at Rob Ford's funeral as Marg Delahunty? She's certainly classless enough.

BRAH BRAH: The only Morons are the hypocrites who demonized Rob Ford and now they care about him? Who would that be? Remember, you used the word "demonized".

Say what you will about Rob Ford's politics but, he was one of those people who was larger than life in everything he did while on his way to becoming a legend. RIP Mr. Ford you've more than earned it. ![Drink up [B-o]](./images/smilies/drinkup.gif)

Say what you will about Rob Ford's policies and politics, but the fact remains that the man was a damn good retail politician who knew how to make people feel like they were being listened to, and that he cared about their problems.
Robyn Doolittle wrote in her book about Ford's mayoralty about the bubble of superiority many people in downtown Toronto seemed to live in, and the contempt they displayed for people on the margins. This is what Ford, with his retail skills, tapped into so well, the frustrations of people who felt like the urban elites were looking down their noses at them.
Again, whatever you think of Rob Ford's performance in office, his skill at tapping into that feeling of public frustration and listening to what they had to say is something to respect...and something that politicians of all stripes could benefit from trying to do more of.
