See, somebody with sense would put the dog down hinself after an incident like that.

This guy needs to be banned from owning animals.

It wouldn't even be a second thought with me. I'd be sad, but a dog is not a child.

That said, I don't think all dogs and children go well together. Some dogs are great around children, others should never be left alone with them. All depends on the dog though. At least this guy had that right, telling people to never let his dog out when he's not around.

Well said DrC. I don't know how our girl would act around small children as she has no experience with them. Plus she likes to play rough and is a "mouther" like most GSD's.

The safest choice is often the right one. I got bit by my best friends' GSD once, because I was roughhousing with his little brother. The dog was a failed Edmonton Police Service recruit. But knowing the dog for years, it was not a very serious bite, but totally unexpected because he had never shown to have a protective side before. Just shows you never know what is going on between those ears. ;)

Whereas my sisters' dog is the biggest happiest fluffy wigglebutt you've ever met. Very, very good with children, and very gentle. And she's an Alaskan Malamute cross!

On the 6:30 news this morning they were saying there was another incident in the states where a boy was killed in his aunts trailer by her 3 darling pitbulls.

So sure, it's always the owner and never the dogs.
