$1: Speaking at a news conference, Hans Dieter Poetsch said: "We are talking here not about a one-off mistake but a chain of errors."
He said VW would be "relentless in seeking to establish who was responsible" for the scandal.
4 months, and they still haven't found anyone, or done anything.
They are working hard.

I would think there's more of the same technology out there, just remains hidden. It's odd that VW would spend the resources on devious practices rather than on proper clean engine development. They probably thought it would cost less.

Desperation, the Euro 5 and 6 rules are getting really difficult to follow without sacrificing performance and economy. Especially for diesels.

Volkswagen didn't kill anyone unlike GM (Government Motors) who have blood on their hands.

Public_Domain Public_Domain: I always wondered since this story broke; the cars were rigged to know when they were being tested, so they'd be more efficient at that moment... Can you game the function to just.... stay on? LOL!!!

Can you game the function to just.... stay on? Yes. But like Martin said, there is a choice between pollution controls and performance. Burning fuel = more power but more pollution also. VW promised more performance, and cleaner engines and they can't deliver on both promises at the same time.

BRAH BRAH: Volkswagen didn't kill anyone unlike GM (Government Motors) who have blood on their hands. Unlike these stalwarts of consumer safety. BMW, Fiat Chrysler, Ford, General Motors, Honda, Hyundai, Nissan, Toyota, Volkswagen and Mercedes Benz, as well as several of their brands such as, Infiniti, Kia, Acura and others. http://consumerist.com/2015/08/27/class ... 13-deaths/I'm sorry but if you research car companies you'll find that they all operate on the "Ford Mustang" premise that it's cheaper to pay off the deceased's families than to recall millions of cars. So to single out GM for having blood on it's hands is nothing less than blatant favouritism.
