Very refreshing change. JT hasn't won me over as a supporter just yet, but he's definitely on the right track

He'll make his share of mistakes, and it will be interesting to see how he does once the media turns against him. Will he be as open then? But good on him for going in a different direction. A breath of fresh air after that stale fart smell Canada was putting out for the last few years.

If he keeps up his current momentum, I might actually like him. But then, I said that of Obama too.

Same. Lots of promise, little success. But then JT is dictator for 4 years, so he has much more power to put in place what he wants. Which also means his failures are more on his shoulders. I think making rash decisions might be his downfall. Like promising to take 25,000 refugees by the end of the year, and now scrambling to make it happen. He should have said by the end of 2016, or even the summer, and it all would have been good.

Sweden is apparently taking in that many per week. But they have the infrastructure to handle it, where ours was gutted by the last government.

It might be a rash decision, but if he can pull it off it will just be that more politically brilliant.

I agree Beaver, I was really skeptical of Trudeau even as leader, but his positions seem to be quite in line with what most Canadians want. He has taken a large number of traditional conservative voters and if he continues with his transparency government he will win over many more.

When real challenges and demands for liberty and transparency rise; as they definitely will, his responses to these demands for democracy will determine his legacy. Quite frankly if he practices what he preached during the election, no other party will usurp them for another decade or more. That is how important accountability and transparency by government and it's agents is.

Take it from someone who will be reaching out to him and his cabinet, it is definitely in the best interest of Canada and it's reputation to right any wrongs committed by former administrations...
