I thought we'd been doing this here for quite a few years now. Speed limits, red lights, merging nd what ever are only suggestions

Our roads might as well not have rules as so few drivers seem to know them, anyway.

This only works in the city centers of small towns, where traffic isn't a problem anyway. The people who have instituted these ideas are very worried about what happens when the yahoo suburbanites, "it's all about me" hit these situations - chaos.

It's also not working out well in Britain, which are much more authoritarian based. Works well in Germany and Scandinavian countries where people actually still follow a social contract. And again only in smaller centers, where people are used to paying attention to each other instead of just barging thru.
