these don't mean much to me, since we don't elect governments by percentage of the vote...you can get a majority government with 35% of the vote. So this number is meaningless to me.

That being said, I am not making any excuses, would not matter to me what stripe the sitting government was...

Me either. It'll be a voting booth decision for me. Still gonna give the Tories hell though when one of their robocalls catches up to me.

Surprised you haven't already. I got a call last week already, thought it was a human for a change.

It's already a bad time of the year to be answering unknown numbers thanks to things like those peckerwoods from Sri Lanka or Bangladesh already calling me to tell me my computer is "under attack". Having to deal with the repeat political calls will make it even worse for the next two and a half months.

What they mean is, two thirds of the country is annoyed that nobody can break a $20 anymore.

Why should they when hardly anything costs less than $20?

That's true of the US and every other developed place too. Even only 2% inflation over a decade still equals 20% more on cost after ten years. That's WalMart's success in making people think they're paying less when in reality they're now paying the same price there that they used to pay for better quality items at better stores that have gone out of business. The net trajectory on prices is always up.

Except oil if course. Give it another month or two and it cost less to buy a barrel of oil than it does a discount DVD from the bargain bin at (you guessed it) WalMart.

And it will only cost you $0.50 more to buy a litre of gas....
