Zipperfish Zipperfish:
Whether the cop has the legal authority or not is a moot point. What he has is a tazer and a gun.
It's not a moot point in Indiana and Texas. Both states have laws on the books that explicitly state that their citizens do not have to submit to illegal acts or illegal orders by law enforcement.
The Indiana law goes one step further and says that if police execute a warrant on the wrong house or the wrong person and they employ lethal force in doing so then the victim of that crime is immune to any charges that occur from defending themselves.
Interestingly, since the law was passed over the objections of law enforcement the number of wrongful warrant executions in Indiana has dropped to exactly zero.
