Progressives are incremental and patient, but it's about (as Obama's one-time chief advisor once said) never wasting a tragedy.

So they'll wait, and when the next tragedy occurs they'll attempt to carve away another section of American tradition, or history. The symbol they really salivate over one day vanishing is the American flag.

It's about incrementally weakening the country by dividing the country into schisms of victim groups and pods of the weak-minded, then using them to deconstruct its culture, traditions and faith in itself by bits until one day America is pussified enough to accept the full control of the leash and collar of the Progressive agenda.

From their point of view today it's, "so far, so good."

Yes, now look in the mirror and see yourself.

I realize it's scary for you guys who have been brain-trained in the Progosphere to see yourselves, but if I'm going to help you, you're going to have to be brave and take a look.

And oh goody, we're doing movies.

Here's what I mean by "pods". Somebody makes a thoughtful point that challenges the group-think.

They stumble out onto the lawn.

And how are the calls for taking down the Confederate Flag evidence of nefarious group-think? IT's a symbol of treason and racism, not to mention the flag of the side that lost.

No it's not. It was a battle flag adopted by the Army of Northern Virginia under General Robert E. Lee.

It's history. Therefore it's story must be revised to mean something more convenient to the Progressive agenda.

This was the flag of the Confederate States of America.

The Stars and bars , as pointed out was Lee's battle flag....a man who had freed his slaves before the emancipation proclamation

This flag is just as much a symbol of slavery as the Confederate flag. To think that the Union Army was fighting to free blacks is ridiculous. Most northerners diddn't give a shit about blacks, free or slave. They Union Army was fighting solely to keep the United States one nation. Ending slavery was at best a tertiary goal. Slavery coming to an end was inevitable, a reality those in the South also knew.

At the beginning of the war Lincoln and the Republican party were willing to constitutionally guarantee that slavery could continue in the states where it was law. They didn't want it to be able to be legal in any other new states and territories. The southern states wanted the new territories and states be able to decide on their own if slavery would be a legal institution. This where states rights vs federal laws came into conflict. Had the south acquiesced, chances are slavery could have lasted as a legal institution, another two or three generations.

We could also claim that this flag is a symbol of racism and poor losers...

It's still the battle flag of the confederacy. A group of states that fought against the USA. In other words, a traitors flag.

In other words, "When it's shown that I am wrong, I'll double down and say it's something else."

Do you even know all the reasons why there was a war. I'll give you a hint on the big one, think naval blockade.
