Gotta love the Chinese. They sure know how to curtail any unfair criticism of their socialist paradise. :P

My guess is that dad is texting on a free gov't issued smart phone while enjoying time in one of those famous gov't funded all inclusive re-education spa's. XD

Well, at least we can be grateful that Stevo won't have anything to do with them.

Always a deflection with admirers of the 'Shiny Pony'.

I don't like that we do any business with the Chinese but business is business. We deal with all kinds of governments in our international trade, some that we don't like.

But Justin expressed an admiration of their type of government and that didn't raise any eyebrows in the Liberal camp.

While I wouldn't want to live there permanently, the government does get stuff done.

Edmonton will be lucky to build half of one LRT line in the next 5 years, while China built half a dozen separate lines in Beijing in the same time frame during the run-up to the 2008 Olympics.

The fact is we don't have any right to dictate to them what form of government they have any more than they do to tell us what type of government we should have. That is even more important when so many Chinese don't seem to care what government is in place as long as they have jobs, food in their bellies and a roof over their heads.

Most Chinese, throughout history, have been apolitical.

Much to their detriment.
