Tom you're only fooling some of the people with that $15 an hour promise. On the off chance pigs do grow wings, you can only alter the pay rate that federal employees receive. Each province sets their own minimum wage rate for the remaining 90% of workers......and what does a pay rate of $15 an hour have to do with the middle class?

The middle class don't give a shit about the min-wage nor will it help them.

In fact, this will piss-off a large portion of those middle-class families that have to pay more for the same shitty service to some pimple-faced teenager making $15 a hour.

Just shows how out of touch 'The Beard' really is.

Standard stunt-booking by a politician that has no hope of ever holding power. Easy to promise the moon when those promises will never be implemented in anyone's lifetime.

On the moral level though it's at least a less nauseating thing to do than what Harper did the other day by giving $140 million to the Afghan government. Help Canadians? Nah, gotta cut back, balanced budget uber alles, austerity austerity austerity! More money for foreigners, most of which is going to disappear into the Swiss bank accounts of the local warlords, terrorist chieftains, and poppy-plantation bosses? Gotta do it, spread democracy, regime change, white man's burden, something something something whatever. Name of the game, bitches, and it's time to grow up and stop pretending that ANYONE in politics gives the slightest shit about any of us. :|

My error. It was $139 million to our equally plucky friends in Baghdad, allegedly to help with some sort of refugee issue.

What's funny is that UKIP in the UK wants to cut the foreign aid budget for exactly these reasons,

while the government is busy trying to force a law to make the foreign aid budget mandatory.

The CBC really is retarded, to run a story about middle class promises,
and then mention the minimum wage.

Especially since the minimum wage is a provincial thing.

So since the 'middle class' is now 'minimum wage', I guess the rest of us are going to pay for it.

The only thing more stupid than the CBC covering the story, is the waddle of absolute idiots
at the speech just lapping it all up.

The CBC only mentioned the min-wage because it was part of Mulcair's speech.

I don't know why the NDP bother....I don't think many people take them seriously, everyone knows getting a national NDP government would just increase the national debt significantly

I see this topic is a little too "adult" for you. If you can't handle the truth, see yourself out.
