Not so fast. There are problems with some of the vaccines especially the MMR and Japan has now banned the combination vaccine in favor of separate immunizations for each disease.

Myself, I object to mercury in my vaccines and I recently accepted a couple of mercury-free vaccines after my HMO notified me they were now available and that the HMO is going to cease using vaccines with mercury-based preservatives as of July 1 of this year.

Given the investment that this represents on their part I doubt they're doing it just because a scant minority objects to mercury. They're doing it to reduce liability in potential lawsuits.

Don't forget that more people contracted H1N1 via the vaccine than did any via person-to-person contact.

These vaccines are not instant miracles in a phial and that some people will choose to skip them needs to be a matter of personal liberty.

In the US we still have the irony that American kids are supposed to be vaccinated before they can attend public schools but illegal alien kids are not at all required to be vaccinated before they attend a public school.

If the vaccines are so bloody wonderful then why don't the illegals have to take them?

They literally ARE "instant miracles in a vial". Ask your grandparents how most people they knew died. They'll say, polio, various fevers, mumps, rubella... and war.
As for your mercury statement, it's insane. You get more mercury from eating a single serving of fish than from every vaccine you've ever had, ever. And unless we achieve herd immunity, they aren't 100% effective. They work on 70-90% of people. When you start deciding you don't need your shot we lose herd immunity, and then people who got the shot and it wasn't effective for die. Not to mention you're one selfish douchy SOB to basically leach off the good will of your fellow citizens who do get immunized. If everyone was an anti-vaccer 2 things would happen. First, people would start dying in masses. Second, everyone would remember why we need vaccines.

I'm not against vaccines in general but I'm also not instantly trusting of the same multinational and multibillion dollar pharmaceutical companies that you'll freely condemn if they make any money from a faulty medicine.

Also note that I oppose the MMR vaccine because it's been shown to be dangerous but that I have no objection to measles, mumps, and rubella being vaccinated separately and over time as that has been shown to be effective with far fewer deleterious side effects.

And while I object to mercury in my vaccines I don't object to vaccines that don't have mercury in them. The fact that big pharma is producing vaccines without mercury these days goes to the heart of the argument that the mercury was not needed to begin with.

(But you should keep using the mercury vaccines just to prove to me how much smarter you are than I am. )

That means I am not an 'anti-vaxxer'.

MMR has only been "shown to be dangerous" by a quack doctor who has been thoroughly discredited by his peers.

the organic mercury compound was never harmful to begin with. this is unscientific bullshit that has been spread by people who have zero knowledge of chemistry and think they're an expert after spending a couple of hours on the internet.
