I'll bet these kids were having the time of their lives. The world is going to need more kids like this who can take care of themselves and have the confidence to be able to handle situations like this.

^^

That. Some of the best experiences I've had were winter camping with the Scouts. 40 below, and living in a snow bank taught me more than a few things. ;)

Meh, the scout camp I went to was always an adventure. Especially if you didn't like the taste or strong stench of sulpher water.

Thanks for bringing back some very old memories of the YMCA camp in the Lake of the Woods. I went there for 2 weeks every summer for 3-4 years. It took about a week before you could stomach the heavily sulfured water! Cool Aid was definitely required as the stuff the camp served up was some kind of mysterious orange flavoured "stuff".....yech!!!

It really sucked in the old days when all the women died off.

We had our Scouts winter camping at minus 25, early in February. One must be very vigilant at those temperatures and a dozen Scouts had four leaders watching over them.

As a Scout from the 60s I'm afraid to think about it now.
The "Texting Mom to Bring Warm Socks" badge.... Google Map and TomTom GPS badges...

Meh....the smell is almost always worse than the taste, when it comes to sulfur water. Nasty farts in the tent though.

What really sucks these days is what often passes for 'women'.
