And yet Target is leaving Canada with it's tail tucked between it's legs. :P

All those asshats had to do was follow their own American model and they could have slowed the juggernaut that is Walmart in it's tracks while making a fortune. There is no excuse for poor business acumen in this market and if a company is to thick to even follow their own successful business model they get what they deserve.

Wal Mart is invading Canada just the same as Russia is invading Ukraine.

If you folks had any sense you'd have the PPCLI repel these foul invaders ASAP.

Doing so awesome that they scaled back the expansion by 32% from their original plan.

$1:
Although an impressive figure, the $340 million is actually less than the retailer said it pledged to spend in 2014 this time last year, when it said it was planning on spending $500 million and open 35 new stores.

When a machine like Walmart starts to scale back plans like this, it's not a good sign. Well, not for them, any way.

Walmart is doing quite well in Canada. I see you've tried to sell the short twice but they're still growing and turning s healthy profit all while opening more locations.

Yes, everybody spends a couple million bucks to reduce a plan, that cost a couple million bucks, because everything is peachy.

Makes perfect sense.

The numbers prove you wrong, over and over again.

Businesses change plans all the time for growth or contraction.

We are talking about Walmart in Canada, aren't we?

You are aware that International involves stores in 26 countries, right?

THe Russians didn't bring boxes of mini-donuts for $1.00

Just came back from getting lunch and baking goodies. Hot dogs (no name) $6.99, hot dog buns $4.49, cream cheese $5.59 case of 12 Pepsi $7.29

You want me to say something bad about Walmart? Not today. buddy. Soon as the snow stops, it's 120 miles to the nearest one.....

Prices sound similar to Grande Prairie. I guess the slowdown in oil hasn't been reflected in prices here, if anything I think things have become more expensive.
