They aren't designated as "heritage", but are still 110 years old, if they are in good nic it would be ridiculous to just tear them down. For someone with some money and property it would probably we worthwhile to pay the moving expenses.

Hyack Hyack:
but are still 110 years old, if they are in good nic .

110 year old wiring.
110 year old plumbing.. oh, wait.
110 year old insulation.

A front porch no one wants for sitting overlooking a street that no one walks down anymore.

andyt andyt:
Seems like a win win.

If YOU think it's a good deal, then that should tell the rest of us what a bad idea it really is.

If the developer thought there was any value, he would be selling them.

Not sure what you're trying to argue about? This way the developer doesn't have to pay demolition costs and somebody gets a nice house for a good price. Of course the developer would try to sell them if the value exceeded the cost of moving them. And anybody taking the house will do their due diligence to and look that gift horse in the mouth.

It's still a win win - instead of recycling the house somebody gets a extant one for free and the developer saves a buck too. You really don't get that? As for wiring, even plumbing and insulation, these houses are updated by the owners along the way. Doubt very much every thing is original in the house.
