$1:
GG told officers he intended to commit suicide. He was arrested under the Mental Health Act and taken to hospital for treatment.
Temporary publication ban

Defence lawyer Tonii Roulston had asked the judge for a publication ban to protect GG and his wife from public retaliation.

"I am not seeking to have the facts of this case quashed or that these facts not be heard by members of the public," said Roulston. "Here, there is some substantial harm that is real.

Protect him and his family from retaliation. We don't seem that squeamish with other people charged with crimes like this.

Did you not read that he was arrested under "The Mental Health Act"?

$1:
A Calgary man who once worked in military intelligence has pleaded guilty to firearms and explosives charges, after police found evidence suggesting he was planning an attack on a downtown Calgary skyscraper that houses a Veteran Affairs Canada office.

Nothing to do with Mental health act, he's pleaded guilty to a crime. Vince Li was not under a publication ban. And how does being arrested under the mental health act mean his wife requires protection?

You're obviously WAY smarter than those involved.

Is that your usual response to a publication ban? "The smart people know what they're doing, who am I to question them?" Usual response to court decisions in general?

He's former military, holds a grudge against the government, and was about to go postal, but you consider him to be a terrorist? Is everyone in the U.S. that goes postal a terrorist? The guy has mental health issues, and some weapons. That makes him a first class nutbar, but hardly a terrorist. Do you see him yelling JIHAD, or doing this in the name of a God? He's pissed at a government agency, and wants a piece of them.

I'm not at all defending what he could have done, as someone like this is clearly dangerous. Instead of hanging out on your PC all day waiting to troll something like this, why don't you go out into the world, and do some good, Andy.

The publication ban is pointless since we're talking about it.

There's temporary ban on his name only.

I don't usually respond to you, Mr "lets get some" but:

Holding a grudge against the govt and wanting to blow it up seems like the definition of terrorism to me. Didn't know only those yelling jihad qualified, or that terrorism is only done for religious reasons.

So let me see if I've got it straight. Being mentally ill and drug addicted (that's actually redundant) and attacking parliament while yelling jihad makes you a terrorist (I agree) and only those commie symps in the NDP say otherwise. Being suicidal, holding a grudge against the govt and plotting to blow up veterans affairs, why shucks you're just a good ole boy deserving spatial consideration. Is that it?

That is a non-sequitur and doesn't answer my question. do you never question court decisions because you think smarter people than you made them?
