I'd love to believe there's some significance to that, but it's most likely just the influence of New Media. One often sees polls go wingy when there's somebody like Stephen Colbert involved - Ron or Rand Paul. There's a certain sort of modern mind that loves to jimmy polls. Blogs and social media will direct such minds to polls like this one.
Libertarians are bad for it. Ezra's not technically a libertarian, but he has that whole "fighting for freedom" thing he attaches to himself that would make him libertarian friendly.
