True enough, but there comes a point where your life is worth far more than any possessions.

The problem is that there aren't that many "western" nations willing to let white people from Africa in. They don't believe they are refugees.

They tempted fate and survived when he tried to give his Zanu friends their farm lands back in the 90's but, I don't think they'll be so lucky this time. Although I'd love to see them finance a clandestine war from afar against that racist dictator which would ultimately lead to his forcible removal from office and public execution but to do that they'd need the help of outside agencies none of which seem to concerned about the fate of whites in Rhodesia.

So until someone grows a pair and treats him the same as they did with that prick Radovan Karadzic in the balkans he'll always remain a darling of the United Nations.

Mugabe's smart enough to keep his depredations confined to those who get no mercy (white farmers, the black opposition that wants a real democracy) from the western leftists. If he hurts those that his ideological brothers elsewhere also hate then he is pretty much given carte blanche to do what he wants. Keep the bloodbath within the existing borders and no one elsewhere really gives much of a damn.

It's typical of ivory tower thinking from those who will never suffer any of the consequences of what they believe in. The revolution itself, and the establishment of a new power structure, are the only points of a revolution. Any improvements for the betterment of the majority aren't even the main goal. Most of the time, if they happen at all, they're just a side effect if not merely errata.

It's really unfortunate that those kind of people have a hand in education.

I had an anthro prof once who spent half a class ranting about some students she'd heard complaining on the bus about their math prof's accent.

According to her the students were supposed to respect how hard it was for someone to teach in a foreign language and they were racist for complaining that they couldn't understand the man.
