Good and whether these bills pass or not at least it will introduce adult debate or what passes for adult debate in the Parliament about a topic that needs to be discussed and a resolution reached.

People shouldn't be made to suffer needlessly and without hope just to assuage the morality of a bunch of politicians.

Apparently, they have a test now that predicts whether you are going to end up with dementia. I measures chemical, DNA markers and is about 85% accurate.

This test should be introduced in synchrony with some good assisted suicide law or people will be topping themselves all over by all sorts of messy means.

And that, is the slippery slope we have to protect against. I'm not in favour of telling people in their 30's or anyone else for that matter that there's a chance of getting dementia, cancer or any other terminal and debilitating illness because of peoples inherent ability to turn a "Might happen into a, Will Happen" scenario.

I understand that early diagnosis is key in fighting diseases but, having the genetic markers doesn't guarantee you'll get the disease and as it is right now we're seeing all kinds of women with the breast cancer gene opt for self mutilation because of these genetic tests that aren't always accurate.

So can you imagine what the world would be like if they started telling everyone what they were going to get as they aged. 8O People would be jumping off bridges at the ripe old age of 18 which isn't a good thing.

Think what would happen to our medical system which is already underfunded and poorly managed if everyone started demanding treatment for diseases that they hadn't been diagnosed with yet or might not ever have.

It's a pretty scary concept all around.
