The police should have charged him so they could have forced him into court and mandated treatment for what is obviously a very serious substance abuse issue.

I think the fact that his facebook page had 182,000 well wisher who were bilked by his duplicity might just be the reason we're hearing about it now and you're right. People like him with antics like that ruin and minimize the impact of the issues for all the people who have valid complaints.

Maybe because on any given day there's about a bazillion news stories out there. 7 billion people, 200 countries give or take. Maybe something much bigger from a newsworthy perspective also happened on the day the now made up event occurred, so no one over here noticed.

I haven't noticed that. Seems there's always a certain percentage that will do so and have for ever. Lots of actual rape, racist tipping and homophobic attacks to go around. If you or FD want to claim that it just doesn't happen, or is mostly made up, well bullshit to that. If not, again, why was this story newsworthy now but not when it was thought to be real? Obvious, the agenda is obvious.
