And with respect to 3G wireless, it's also more expensive.

Oh and I'm sure we're not charged up the ass for that wonderful service we're getting in large urban areas...

$1:
The study's author noted that Canadian prices for wireless service were higher than the U.S.

Oh...wait...

What good is that speed when data caps are low and overage charges cost an arm and a leg?

Because Rogers, Bell, and Telus can now point to this story when anybody even thinks about comparing US cell companies and Canadian ones. "Oh but we have better speeds! NOW FORK OVER YOUR FIRST BORN."

You forgot the "BEND OVER" part.

Read the comments on the story - lots of them say what you just said.

That's because there is no rural service. At least in canada. A few years ago I did a cross canada road trip. Going east, after I left Ottawa, I didn't get any reception until I got to Thunder Bay.

I have a friend who used to work near CFB Cold lake. No one there had device expect for the people on Bell. Rogers people had nothing.

They probabally still don't. Telus made a great effort in the 90s to get Digital Cellular service all along the route to and inside Fort Mac. Telus shares service with Bell. Rogers didn't want to spend the money, and no one shares with them.

You should have gone west instead. Makes the trip from Ottawa to Thunder Bay significantly shorter! :P

Canadian wireless speeds faster than in U.S.

That's 'cause there are fewer of us and therefore less demand to share bandwidth.

I'll bet that Verizon isn't wrecking the credit histories of dead people who never even subscribed to Verizon, as our beloved Rogers feels they can do.
