We are buying these birds wether we like it or not.
As well, I think Lockheed Martin is probably privy to some info that the American taxpayer is not.
And also the American taxpayers are buying them whether the American public likes it or not.
None of these multinational corporations have any particular allegiance to any particular nation. Their profits are offshored to whatever banking haven they find suitable, and their interests are aligned with sales, not nations.
They might find it more, or less, convenient to have a corporate headquarters in, say, Toronto or New York, but that's about it. And their lobbyists will haunt Ottawa, Washington, London, or Berlin irrespective of any identification with their corporate office building location.
