I get the reference, but Ottawa Green Reds would have been better. So much policy lately is enviro-friendly, Green on the outside, Red on the inside. No wait, just call themselves the Ottawa Watermelons. As I remember their team they play like they are throwing one.

That's an awful name. A team name should tie in with the city or try an instill fear into the opponents (granted the Blue Jays do neither). The RedBlacks sound like a nickname for the federal finance ministry or at the very least a nickname for a team (just like the Argos are called the "Double Blue"). I say go back and try again.
