What do they do with the parts they found from the planes after investigation and identification?

I was hopeful they'd put some of them into the Natural History Museum as a reminder of the tragic consequences of terrorism but who knows since it never seems to come up in polite society.

I'm not sure what happened in this case, as the parts were criminal evidence, but usually the remnants of a plane crash go to the company that insured the plane.
