I think it would be easy. Actually implementing it though....that's the tough part. Legislating people to be nice works about as well as legislating morality.

And who should identify them? Anonymous? They did such a wonderful accurate job in the Amanda Todd case. Should the authorities, who've already decided once that there wasn't enough evidence to pursue the case?

Don't get me wrong, this is a horrible story, and the idea of something like this happening to my little girl sickens me, but these are exactly the kind of cases where we need to tread most carefully. All we have so far is what her family has said. If it turns out that things happened like they said I hope those boys get put away for life. I hope whoever fouled up the initial investigation faces serious consequences. I hope the family gets the justice they deserve.

But what if there's a real reason that no charges were ever pressed? What if the boys are innocent? Is it up to anonymous hackers and Facebook mobs to serve justice on them?

OK. I didn't word that quite right to what I was thinking.

I wasn't directly suggesting anon or facebook should identify them. It's not up to them to serve justice nor to make that public. If they do there could be all kinds of legal shit that would hit the fan. They are pressuring for the case to be reviewed, as it should be, and if it is determined that the original investigation was not handled properly and that charges should be laid then at that time the identities of the rapists would be made public (unless they are still underage?)

Warren Kinsella's calling for Anonymous to get involved. I agree with him 100%. I hope they come in, name the rapists, embarass the living fuck out of the local RCMP and government ministers, and shred that goddamn town down to the bone. It sounds like Steubenville all over again.
