I second that. He could easily spend his time doing something more productive than this. If he doesn't like Christmas, perhaps he should find another country to reside in.

$1:
Solo says because the illuminated messages celebrate a holiday for a single religion, Christianity, it's a form of religious discrimination.

Christianity
Single Religion

Pick one.

I hate to say it, but the guy has a point.

If it was a privately paid for message, I would have no issue, but we are supposed to be secular at the governmental level, top to bottom.

No, I don't personally find it offensive, but I do think he has a point.

We may be a secular state but the term "Merry Christmas" long ago lost any relgious connontations for anyone but the few hard charging Christians. Don't believe me, just look around at Christmas time and see how many things associated with that term are religous and how many are just blatent commercialism?

So all this idiot is trying to do is stir the pot or quite possibly give Canada's Star Chamber another case where they can make a life defining decision that protects Canada from the evils of the world.

Either way this type of bullshit borders on the ludicrous.

Guys like this make being an athiest a little embarrasing sometimes.

CHristmas is atleast as much cultural as religious now. There is no seperation of culture and state. How long till some hockey fan from another city living here sues the city over the "Go Oilers Go" bus messages?

Living in Saskatoon, I can say this has been met with one large collective yawn. Except for the Constipated Conservative professionals like John Gormley and the shreeking left-toids, no one cares.

One of the burdens of a free society is putting up with the idiots who get upset that someone says a prayer at a civic event (same guy) or that the American dollar has the gall to say on it "in God We trust." Someone should just buy the guy some good B.C. Bud (Curt??? where ya at???) and get him laid (Solo, not Curt :D )

Time to revive an old English greeting "Yule Tide Greetings", it would be difficult to offend any one beliefs.

Agreed, and now if I can get my one eye to focus, I will rescind those orders for wolves to eat you and ravens to peck out your eyes:

This guy is a complete whiner. He already has one complaint against the city for saying Grace at a function so this is no stretch for him.
