yes...about 40% of Argentinians are Italians and about 70% claim some Italian ancestry.. There are also large German and British minorities. It's not really a typical Latin American society.

It's quite a chunk of land Her Majesty has named after her. Queen Elizabeth Land is twice the size of the UK.

But you've got to laugh at the Argies saying that this shows that Britain has "imperialistic ambitions". What they probably failed to mention to the UN when they went crying to them is the fact that they are actually staking a claim (although all claims are suspended by the Antarctic Treaty System) to part of Britain's Antarctic territory. It's not just the Falklands that the Argies are tying to snatch from the British. They are also trying to take our Antarctic terrirory. It's the Argies who are the imperialists.
