His promise fades everytime he opens his mouth. If he wants to win this thing, he needs to shut his mouth and listen to his advisors.

$1:
When he's in Quebec he says Albertans have too much power, but when he's in Alberta he says the opposite. When he's with his Liberal friends he votes in favour of the long-gun registry, when he's in a rural community he calls it a failure.

So much for the myth of the CBC's pro-Liberal bias.

It's possible they're just pro-Garneau...

Guy is running for a leadership position and will have to explain the previous positions he took when he was whipped into following the party line.

Wonder if any of the CPC guys felt it was a failure but voted for it anyway since that was the party position?

Yeah, kind of like Mulroney having to explain and explain why he was anti-free trade before he was for it. Why does it matter what someone used to believe? I'm more interested in what they currently believe.

When I point out that I don't think old Firewall Harper has changed his spots and still plans to convert Canada to a Randian paradise, the CPC devout sputter their outrage. But Trudeau, they all know fer sure he's never gonna change. They're both politicians. They're both going to be doing a certain amount of blowing the electorate in the wind.

What we need is a shorter long gun registry and a longer short gun registry.

You don't think comments made/votes place mere months ago apply today?

His stance changed from Saturday to Monday, BTW.

No. Why would they?

Did it change from right to wrong or wrong to right? You're stirring up a contoversy just for the sake of controversy. So much for your recent attempts to characterize yourself as something other than a CPC hack. Hack on, McHack.

Because these guys are making NATIONAL decisions for us. When you stand up and vote for something that affects the entire Country, perhaps a little bit of thought should be involved.

Wow....coming out swinging in defence of your boys, eh? Stirring up controversy? I think the media has done a good job at that as the link shows.

After that, you got nerve throwing around the hack comment. I'll give ya that.

I guess I can never say anything anti-Liberal ever again without being labelled as such. It doesn't matter how many times I've said the guy will be our next PM if he wins the leadership or any other positive commentary...the second anything remotely negative comes out guys like you start with the "hack" comments.

It matters because it's the difference between someones real beliefs, and something they tell the public to win support. Too many politicians change their mind once they've been elected.

Just tell him Harper is a full fledged economist and his head will nearly pop off.

You should know by now that there is a difference between party line and personal belief.
