The sitter's kid kills the baby and the kid is charged? The baby's well being was the responsibility of the sitter and the kid was the responsibility of the sitter. With lack of details it's hard to tell but the sitter should be charged with something at least.

A 10-year-old girl was charged Thursday with manslaughter in the death of an infant whose mother said had ingested medication and been suffocated.

This is incredibly disturbing and points to the child being a sociopath despite her young age. So given the severity of the crime you can see why they'd want to get this kid off the streets and try and get her help, hence the charge.

But Benn is right, where is the mothers accountability in all this? As the parent of the kid, she had to have noticed her child displayed antisocial tendancies or at the very least aggression so leaving this girl with an infant, who was her responsibillity should have garnered her some type of charge.
