I got a robo-call about how McGuinty has passed a wonderful budget for Ontarians. After I hung up during the call I LMAO. Best joke of the day.

I love how everything is a "scandal".

Politics has turned into such a sideshow in this Country.

What aspect(s) of the budget, specifically, are you unhappy with?

Me too, although one douchebag's the same as another. But this seems a fairly conservative-minded budget, so I'm wondering what OTI is upset about, beside it being put forward by the Liberals. I can't imagine how this budget is much different from what Hudak would have tabled. :?

I just wish the budget went deeper and he took into consideration more of the Drummond recommendations.

I agree with you that the provincial bureaucracy needs a serious trimming, but I'm not sure the Drummond report is of much value. The cuts that Drummond recommended to Education indicate that he has no expertise to make such recommendations. There are lots of areas where savings could be made in education, but those aren't the areas Drummond recommended for cuts. Someone who's an expert in education should have been consulted. It makes me suspect that the rest of the cuts he recommended didn't come from any particular expertise in those areas either.

With respect to Drummond, it's not like the people at Queens Park, McGuinty, etc are experts in the respective fields of the portfolios they manage.

In fact, the Education Minister is a lawyer with no education experience at all.

In terms of education, I think full-day kindergarten is an albatross that should have never started to begin with. It's a very expensive form of Provincial daycare.

Except the ministers have deputy ministers and others who are experts in their field. Otherwise basically any portfolio except attorney general wouldn't have a hope in hell of doing a good job.

But there's what makes sense technically, and what makes sense politically. You go all gung ho on the first, and you may not be around long enough to enact your ideas. The govt is really only as smart as the electorate it serves.
