I agree with you that the provincial bureaucracy needs a serious trimming, but I'm not sure the Drummond report is of much value. The cuts that Drummond recommended to Education indicate that he has no expertise to make such recommendations. There are lots of areas where savings could be made in education, but those aren't the areas Drummond recommended for cuts. Someone who's an expert in education should have been consulted. It makes me suspect that the rest of the cuts he recommended didn't come from any particular expertise in those areas either.
With respect to Drummond, it's not like the people at Queens Park, McGuinty, etc are experts in the respective fields of the portfolios they manage.
In fact, the Education Minister is a lawyer with no education experience at all.
In terms of education, I think full-day kindergarten is an albatross that should have never started to begin with. It's a very expensive form of Provincial daycare.
