martin14 martin14: ShepherdsDog ShepherdsDog: damn...most of our games are versus broadcasts. We don't see anything of Cherry except during the regular season when we have a few games covered by CBC. Versus really blows big donkey chunks. VS = Very Shitty = hit the mute button. no argument from me, but unless i get my own dish and the sports package, I have to watch versus.

Zipperfish Zipperfish: bootlegga bootlegga: So you don't watch him yet you are sure he knows nothing of hockey... I agree the guy is a cartoon and a giant joke, but he does know his hockey - even today's version of it. Had you watched today's Coach's Corner you would have seen him give excellent examples of hockey fundamentals (like praise Vancouver for their dump in tactics - which lead to the goal in the 1st period). Then he went and harped on SJ for playing the 5-on-3 stupidly in Game 4. The only really negative thing he said about the Canucks was that he hates that they get a 3-1 series lead and then fall asleep. This year that is absolutely true. And the Bruins, Cherry showed one measly highlight from yesterday's game. And comparing Cherry to MacKenzie, oh please. MacKenzie is even more of a blowhard and joke than Cherry. You couldn't pay me to watch that asshole on the Toronto Sports Network - the second Rogers Sportsnet showed up, I said goodbye to TSN forever. Hey dissin' Coach's Corner is working for me! The Canucks are on to the Stanley Cup final. OK onward--Cherry called Kesler a rat, said he's "not that good.". Anyone that calls Kesler a rat don't know shit about hockey. Period. Case closed. That guy almost won the Nashville series single-handedly. Ron Maclean dissed Torres and even Burrows--the guy who has scored 6 goals in Vancouver's last five elimination games, including the Game 7 winner in OT against Chicago. Not many folks likes Ron Maclean in Vancouver, I can tell you that. TSN does suck, but I like Fathead Mackenzie just 'cause Phil Esposotio took a swing at him and he used to have an awesome mullet. Plus, he's got a fat head. It's got its own weather system. I was on TSN just now, and they are showing some radio show (I know, "showing" a radio show? WTF?) with three Toronto sports guys all studiously avoiding the subject of hockey. Hilarious. I like the way Cherry always sticks up for the soldiers overseas, and you can tell it's straight from the heart with him when a player or a young prospect is hurt or killed. But that clown and Ron Maclean dissed my team one too many times, so screw 'em. GO CANUCKS GO!!!!!I don't know that Kesler is that great. Sure he had a career year this year, but one year does not a superstar make. Lots of guys have had great playoff series (or even a whole playoffs), yet where are guys like Fernando Pisani, Michael Leighton, etc, now? I'd say Kesler is a very good player, but I'm not so sure of his superstardom yet. Given that he's not looking for a new contract next year, he may be the real deal, but I'll wait a couple of years before I'm going to think he's as great as you make him out to be. Yeah, that TSN radio show (Fan 590 I think) is hilarious - yet another reason I don't watch the Toronto Sports Network. As for Mackenzie, I wish Esposito had knocked him into the next century. He's a boob and blowhard. BTW, if you want an awesome hockey read, check out Esposito's biography - it's full of awesome anecdotes and pranks and such.

Cherry predicted Vancouver would win game 5 3-2. He was bang on, maybe he does know a little something about hockey eh. I truely hope that Tampa forces a game 7. I believe that either team from the east will be defeated by Vancouver but I hope its Tampa that Vancouver beats.

He went for Vancouver because he was standing on the Vancouver ice surface when he said and he knew he'd get run out of town on a rail any other way. If it was back in Toronto they'd be talking about how crappy Burrows and Kesler are and drooling over old Pronger highlights. Screw you, Cherry. GO CANCUKS GO!!!!!!

Zipperfish Zipperfish: Alright, I like to listen to Don Cherry but alot of that is because he shows great respect for the military. I do agree that Don favours Boston and Toronto and that does Irk me. But I can put that aside and give the man his due. He has thumbed his nose at his employer (CBC) and I applaud that. He speaks his mind and I accept that not all he says represents my opinion, and why should it. Its his individualism. I really dont think he cares what you or I think of him, which is respectable in itself. I, myself back any Canadian team (less toronto of course. I'm not brain dead)that remains in the playoffs. I'm a Sens fan and Don doesn't have any time for them either, but thats ok.

And if there's a kid gets hurt playing hockey somewhere, he'll drum up support. He's got a big heart. So, like I said, give him a show in Boston or Toronto where he can drone on and on about how great Douggie Gilmour and Bobby Orr were. But get him, his clown suits and the doofus sidekick the hell off the national airwaves. Before I didn't really care so much about them. Wasn't crazy about them, but I'd crack a fresh beer for Coach's Corner. But Maclean dragging Burrows over the coals in a disgraceful display and then Cherry calling Kesler a rat did it. Screw 'em. Good luck to your Sens next year! GO CANUCKS GO!!!!!

I think the Sens will be an exciting team to watch next year, not cup contenders or anything like that but should give a good performance which will turn into a cup in 2 or 3 years. But thats the future, right now its GO CANUCKS GO.

COuld of been hurt though, who knows?Sen and Edmonton are looking good., Not so sure about Flames and TO though. Need to focus more on defvloping talent and less on horse trading, if you ask me. And lest we forget... let's not forget about the Jets!!!!

Zipperfish Zipperfish: Let me guess....Leafs fan right. Mmm hmmm. Well, your bitterness is understandable.
A true hockey fan would not mistake the Big B beside my name for a Leafs emblem. I'm thinking you are not really a hockey guy, just a band wagon guy cheering for the lone "Canadian" team left in the playoffs.

Yeah, you've "figgered" me out before a few times and and you haven't really come close yet. Hey, hows about I take a shot? You are too judgmental but not that smart, right? I mean, it's not like you're retarded or anything--just a tad dull. You are fiercely loyal but are conflicted because deep, deep down, you really want to be an American. And you hate hip-hop. Nailed it! Give that man a kewpie doll! Fuck you. ![Moon [moon]](./images/smilies/action-smiley-081.gif)

That tells me that you are not very observant or not much of a hockey fan. And I don't think observation is your problem. But I do think your anger issues will get you into trouble someday. Have a good day.

If there's one thing I'm known for around here, it's anger issues. Sheesh. Wrong again, fucko! ![Drink up [B-o]](./images/smilies/drinkup.gif)

Since you say it is not an anger issue that leaves us with? It will be so good to watch Vancouver lose in the finals!
