DerbyX DerbyX: The wave of support for the NDP in Quebec was based largely on the NDP social platform which is important in Quebec. Derb, only taking part of your post. That was largely a creation of the media. They did not give any attention to the Bloc, that in itself was very unusual. Journalists are very biased towards the CPC. So, there is not much else left, and the ''sheeple'' went along and voted NDP for no apparent reason. Not upset, people have the right to vote for whichever political party, after all in a democratic society. I have never blasted Libs or NDP on this forum, for they have a right to their opinion. But at least, they know what they vote for.

Zipperfish pretty much said the entire western media was pro CPC and in Ontario it was 2/3rds and what wasn't rabidly pro-CPC was called horribly biased. I'm sure in Quebec you have many very pro Bloc/PQ media but that is not the case elsewhere. AT the very least Quebec is the least single party voting province we have. The Cons could run trained monkeys in Alberta and they'd still be elected. Ask Boots about his frustration over that reality.

DerbyX DerbyX: Gunnair Gunnair: Ahh, see I thought you were just against mocking people. My bad.
Its not so much mocking as disagreeing. Disagreeing with another parties political platform is a reason for voting. Ridiculing their MPs because they are young is just stupid don't you agree? You disagreed with me about the Liberals and their commitment to defence spending. That I can understand. You didn't attack them because of their age or skin colour or lack of experience. I'm sure some of those Liberals and Dippers go to church. If they're young, they should not be attacked - if they go to church, they're fair game?

That depends. If they are using that belief to force policy on those who don't want it then absolutely. I have specifically told my MP that my support is based on his continuing support for social issues like abortion rights and SSM. Now for that matter you are vigorously questioning me over attacking Day and then defending NDP rooks. Are you saying its OK to attack any MP based on any belief? Do you think rookie MPs deserve to be mocked and if not what do you say to the current crop of CPC supporters doing so?

Be it the intrusion of their beliefs into public policy or the intrusion of the idiocy into the public forum. All's fair in love, war, and politics. You do not seem to share that view. Fair enough.

Would you think it fair to mock an MPs physical deformity (kinda like the cons did with Chretien?)? Would it be OK to mock them because they were bound to a wheel chair or perhaps blind? I don't think you would. Mocking young people because they are young seems just as stupid.

I don't think anyone is attacking MP's for being young. We need young blood in the House. People are a little baffled and some upset (rightly so) that someone can randomly throw their name down on a nomination sheet (legit or not) and get voted in. As a taxpayer, I'd be upset if someone with little eduction and little interest in politics to be representing me. In the end, it's the people in their respective ridings that will pay the price.

Riiight. OnTheIce OnTheIce: I'd love to be represented by some kid with no life experience, no education and who forged her papers....all for the sake of having youth in the House. Notice the unproven forged accusation comes AFTER the BS about life experience and false accusation about education. You stay classy OTI.

That first dumb mistake was by the Dipper 2I/C - youth had nothing to do with that one.

What dumb mistakes? In regards to Mulcair that has been explained. I don't believe he think that US is lying about OBL.

In fact I did not think you would do such a thing. I mearly asked you to expand on "all is fair" sentiment. If all is fair then wouldn't that include said caveats?

Instead of throwing their votes, people should have voted Conservatives.
