Gunnair Gunnair: tritium tritium: Gunnair Gunnair: Which side are you cheerleading for anyway? Never said I liked her... but I also defend the right to free speech. Convenient. Seems like you didn't want her to come and speak her bullshit. Now you're saying you defend it. Riiiiiight. I don't agree with her opinions, but defend your right her say what she feels. I would prefer she didn't come to Canada to spew hate, bigotry and anti-Canadian B.S., but now that she is here, let her speak. I didn't agree with the CRTC allowing FOXNews on Canadian networks after Bill O'Reilly threatened Canada with a boycott in 2004. http://mediamatters.org/research/200405020006I am sure Ann Coulter is laughing all the way to the bank. “ freedom of speech” is just a theory in Canada, it's obvious after today, there really is no such thing.

tritium tritium: MGX MGX: tritium tritium: Wow!! Freedom of Speech takes the back seat to violence.
Guess Canadians don't know how to respect other peoples opinions unless it's is in agreement with their own..
Sad day for Canada.. That's what really concerns me is not the fact whether I agree or disagree but the fact that she's not allowed to say whatever she wants. It's a blow to freedom of speech. She won. She just proved we are a gutless bunch of politically correct pansies who are afraid to debate in public. Our fear of miniorities has shut down free speech once again in this socialist utopia. I hate her but she just proved her point, again! Could have been worse....she could of drawn a cartoon... Well, it would have been worth it I s'pose, what with all the sudden support of freedom of speech here, if some drugged up trailer park hero with a sports scholarship and gone up to the mike and said, "Shut the fuck up, cute." Wonder how many on the forum would be giving the guy the thumbs up and supporting his freedom of speech? I know I would. How many lost their shit every time Carolyn Parrish opened her hole and then shouted anti-American bitch instead of saying, I support her freedom of speech. Yeah, that many.

Oh Ann Coulter is becoming as ugly on the outside as she is on the inside. Her views are no surprise, so who invited her to talk in Canada? And more important, who is paying her to talk/fly here? I sure hope it's not our universities.

One good think about Ann Coulter. She has stirred up a great debate over Freedom of Speech in Canada all arcoss the Internet, Radio and TV. $1: Freedom of Speech is an essential component of a free society. In Canada, this freedom has been under attack under the pretext of protecting and promoting human rights.
Laws that prohibit the free expression of opinion undermine the very foundations of a free and tolerant society and are, therefore, illegitimate and must be abolished. http://www.gopetition.com/petitions/def ... anada.html

Just like guns; I support owning a shotgun or rifle, and even a handgun. I draw the line at the .50 cal HMG though. Anyway, I have yet to meet anyone who truly supports freedom of speech. Everyone has a personnal limit, whether it's Coulter, Parrish, Zundel, etc. As I've indicated, half the Coutler freedom of speech supporters were the first to piss themselves every time Parrish opened her hole. So, so much for that freedom of speech.

O.K. Gunnair, you can quote this in the future (which I am sure you will)...
1. I am a fanatical supporter of freedom of speech; 2. I believe in the right to own guns; 3. I believe penalty and 3 strikes laws;
4. I believe in Socalized Medical care; 5 I believe the state (province) should care for the poor;
6. I don't believe in NAFTA, I do believe in Fair Trade (duties and tariffs on subsidized goods entering Canada for resale)
7. I agree with Multiculturalism, however do not agree that any religion, culture, race or sexual preference should get special treatment above others.
So I'm I a Liberal or Conservative??

Gunnair Gunnair: tritium tritium: sandorski sandorski: She's not a Canadian. She can say whatever the hell she wants in her own country. Her right to voice her opinion is guaranteed by our Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms and extends to all... citizens, permanent residents and visitors.. it's not exclusive to Canadian citizens only.. Her opinion is not guaranteed under the Charter if she chooses to promote hatred. Yes, but it is for the law to take care of. Not a mob of angry students. I have to admit that I can't stand the lady but this makes the U of O look like a joke.

Gunnair Gunnair: Or did a bunch of people just exercise their freedom of speech and drown the bitch out? Free Speech and tolerance vs. threats of violence. Do not say anything about Muhammad as did Danish Cartoonist, you you will be killed. ...and what is with the repeated use of "bitch" ? Don't you have any sisters to learn respect for women?

Do not say anything about Muhammad as did Danish Cartoonist, you you will be killed. $1: “There was a risk there could be physical violence,” said Canadian conservative activist Ezra Levant, who was scheduled to introduce Ms. Coulter. Risk assessed by a conservative activist. cough - bullshit - cough. Quite being a pussy, Coulter. Better yet, quite the convenient grandstanding when the mob exercises its own freedom of speech and assembly.

I'm not sure if Coulter's worth anyone getting all wound up over. She looked kind of seriously awful in that CTV interview, like she was really sick, or hammered, or (eww)had just gotten hammered really hard in bed.
I'd rather just ignore all the hub-bub, bub. Coulter's clown act is more or less identical to an Andrew Dice Clay show anyway. Except with no swearing and much, much less humour. Although I do have to give her some props for the flying carpet and camel comments. Coulter is fast on her feet and any overly-sensitive college students trying to make a point off of her are likely to not make it back alive.
