EyeBrock EyeBrock: You have to be 18 to join the CF Iceowl. Maybe but a lot of the tombstones in the 2 graveyards I grew up in between show lots of kids that died at Normandy, most didnt make 17 years old and a lot of them were Communists immigrants.

EyeBrock EyeBrock: Socialism pays for the military? Since when did we have a socialist government that paid for tanks? How about a corvette? Correct me if Im wrong but wasnt it war support or war bonds that decided what town got a Corvette named after them? Ahem....HMCS BLAIRMORE. Sparwood B.C.

The title of the article should be "Harper visits war graves, macho bullshit ensues" $1: Harper said later he was moved by the beautiful calm today in contrast to the chaos and bloodshed that had unfolded in 1944. Yeah, cause he was totally there in 1944.

EyeBrock EyeBrock: Socialism pays for the military? Since when did we have a socialist government that paid for tanks? Conservatives didn't want to pay for the tanks. At the time of the tank purchase, actually since before the Jan 2006 election) it was becomng known in the military circles that the 105mm LAV variant was dead in the water and would be useless, not even for Afghanistan, just in general. But the Minister of Defence at teh time was still set on putting $650 million into the program, even after we sent tanks over. So in order to convince the conservatives to have a change of heart, the DND released their plans to the media that they wanted Leo 2s, probably Hilliers doing. That's when the conservatives changed their tune, after popular opinion was influenced. When Hillier wants tanks to protect they boys overseas, what government would say no? I have yet to see the conservatives making offers for purchases to meet requirements, and go through with them. So far the promised icebreakers have been scaled back and are now off the radar, the JSS has been tossed off the table, the C-17s were purchased but I've heard that there simply isn't enough of them, etc. Don't get me started on the LSVW from yesteryear. Aside from the LAV-IIIs, the Liberals were damn near as bad, though thankfully they completed the replacement of the Lynx with the LAV-25 Coyote. Difference being in my opinion is that the Liberals scaled back while trying to balance a budget, and the conservatives didn't build up while in an economic boom with funds available. Both are just as good or bad for the military, depending on if you are a glass half empty or a glass half full kinda guy.

Nice try.

So the Conservatives haven't given the military the equipment they need to fight in Afghanistan? They haven't put tanks on the ground and helicopters in the air?

If there's one thing you can count on from Ruez, it's that his postings will end with a question mark. Are you the Riddler?

Actually, when it's a verb, practise is spelled with an "s", but I don't believe I was discussing your grammar.
