I disagree Sand.
The ball was set off rolling by Harper's arrogance, but the real sneaky stuff has been done by the Libs and NDP, and that is how it's playing out to the non-partisan public. Even Lib supporters are wavering on this. The optics on this coalition are not good.
This will be Dion's final mistake and Iggy best steer well clear of it if he wants to succeed, post loser Dion.
Layton has exposed himself as a sneaky, double talking liar. His credibility is permanently damaged and he will be easy meat for Tory attack ads, which is a shame as I thought better of him.
The whole lot of them should be taken out and shot really. Firm but fair.

The NDP may have been sneaky, but haven't heard the Libs being involved in that.

Again agreed, but joining in with a sneaky move, like Dion is doing, never looks good mate.

kenmore kenmore: So whats your take on Harper wanting to do the same thing to Martin.. guess thats ok eh? hmmm Kenmore, you miss the point as usual. The 2005 thing was different matter and a different issue. I'm not blindly defending Harper but the NDP have brought nothing but shame on themselves over this. The Tories are losers too but I can't see you ever admitting Jack was wrong. Go back to sedating loonies. Hopefully you have a better grip on your job than you do on current affairs and Canadian politics.

Who are you trying to convince EyeBrock, I think your post count has doubled since Friday. Layton had laid the groundwork for a contingency plan. Good for him, shows he read Harper pretty well. Harper thought he was putting the opposition in a position where their only options would be to force another useless election and piss off voters, or go bankrupt. So who is the asshole? Who was pulling the backhanded tricks? Layton sucker punched him right when he least expected it, and most deserved it. Harper forced them into a corner, this was their only choice and backing out now would make them appear weak. Put the blame where it belongs.

Yea, I work 4 on 4 off. I'm off and I'm watching the country sink into the abyss. My extra posts have been a direct result of me feeling totally powerless in the face of people who care more about personal power than the country.
Harper has been a dick but Layton is the bigger dick. And I think that about sums it up. Try your little conspiracy with Tories who are more weak minded, they are most certainly out there.
From what I see I have more in common with some of the NDP voters on this forum than you who purports to have voted Tory. But hey, I'll still vote for the knob as he is the least knobby of the bunch, which is not saying much.

JackCoiner JackCoiner: "It will certainly be a shock to the 74 per cent of Canadians who did not vote Liberal, and the large majority who ranked Mr. Dion by far the least popular leader, to discover that he has somehow managed to become prime minister."
Conservatives are getting what they deserve, if they had planted feet to floor, lifted their sorry apathetic asses off their easy chairs - they may have provided a majority for the party. Maybe if the GG allows a dissolution of parliament, they (we) will get a second chance to provide that majority.
Seems a foolish and bitter defeat when the 'loser becomes the winner and the winner becomes the loser', it has resounding echoes of the 2000 US election, 'democratic' leadership by conspiracy. Where did you get the 74% of Canadians did not vote liberal? Less than 60% of Canadians voted.. and if you break that down it ended in a minority.. minority, minority how many times do you have to hear it before you get it.. Harper didnt win shit and he didnt have the popular vote.. he will get nil the next election in Quebec, especially with his Bloc bashing.. Harper and harper alone will be the cause of the break up of Canada.

Yea, you'll have to specify, Harpers' fiscal update was all about the country I suppose? No power grab there, right? EyeBrock EyeBrock: Harper has been a dick but Layton is the bigger dick. And I think that about sums it up. Fight fire with fire. Layton has never had enough power to be as big a dick as Harper has been for the last couple of years. EyeBrock EyeBrock: Try your little conspiracy with Tories who are more weak minded, they are most certainly out there. What conspiracy??? WTF are you talking about??? But hey, I'll still vote for the knob as he is the least knobby of the bunch, which is not saying much. That's your prerogative. Mine will be to vote ABC until Harper is replaced with somebody who doesn't seem to have a personal vendetta against the Canadian Wheat Board. Then I'll actually be able to support the party that more or less represents me. I used my one and only absentee ballot on Harper as a matter of fact. I'd take it back if I could.

It was a 57% turnout kenmore, but hey, lets not let the facts get in the way of your pointless posts.
Who does the drug count on your ward? I'm thinking a few percosets are coming your way when nobody is looking. That's my best explanation for your 'head-in-the-sand' posts, otherwise I will just have to consign myself to believing that you are indeed a total tossbag.

Ah, so the "I voted tory once" gig is up and you are exposed for the anti-tory you really are! Truly pathetic in these times of crisis. You are a one policy type with a grudge. Never the best to debate with. Pissing in the wind and all that. Come back when you actually want a reasoned debate, until then join the other losers who inspire and tout a lack of confidence in our country. Maybe you should vote for the coalition? Oh silly me, they won't want to go to the polls on their policies, as denotes the coalition of liars.

EyeBrock EyeBrock: Ah, so the "I voted tory once" gig is up and you are exposed for the anti-tory you really are! Buddy you have no idea how many times I've voted and for whom. I'm pro life, do not want a gun registry, have never been on EI or any form of social assistance and was raised on a farm in SK. Would have joined the airforce if they'd been hiring back when I was done highschool. That should give you a bit of a picture. EyeBrock EyeBrock: Truly pathetic in these times of crisis. You are a one policy type with a grudge. Never the best to debate with. Pissing in the wind and all that. One huge policy. I realise you probably don't even know what the CWB is and could give half a shit. But What Harper is trying to do is going to have a huge impact on an entire industry. And it won't be a positive one, unless you're one of the few large companies buying Canadian grain. EyeBrock EyeBrock: Come back when you actually want a reasoned debate, until then join the other losers who inspire and tout a lack of confidence in our country.
Maybe you should vote for the coalition? Oh silly me, they won't want to go to the polls on their policies, as denotes the coalition of liars. OK I'll bite, what constitutes a reasoned debate? Me agreeing with everything you say?

Hey, I don't mean to be flippant on a problem that affects a certain part of Canada. I lived in NFLD for 3 years and I have great sympathy with the exploitation of the fisheries, Churchill Falls etc. I'm sure this is a similar issue. I just think that whatever Harper did on the CWB is over shadowed by this conspiratorial nonsense from Dion and Layton. It doesn't mean I have no sympathy will a fellow Canadian getting shafted by a Tory policy.
