It's the "progs" like me that should be freaking out.

My friend, you are a liberal and you are the kind of liberal who gives liberals a good name. You are by no means a 'prog'.

The muslim hate fest (as you call it) will stop when muslims stop giving people multitudinous reasons to do so. Posting counter views only goes to show either your sympathy or lack of understanding of the muslim "faith".

I strongly remember writing things like this about Americans.

Then I realized how absolutely stupid that is.

Absolutely? Please take off the rose coloured glasses.

Public_Domain Public_Domain:
It is pretty stupid to declare all Americans are responsible for the actions of their leaders, CEOs, reporters, rogue soldiers, rapists, or murderers, and that those who say otherwise are collaborating with those unwelcome elements. I remmeber justifying my hatred for Americans with that sentiment: "I'll stop when they stop giving me reasons to hate them". I remember literally suggesting that not being Anti-American was showing "sympathy" to their "regime". It was some top-tier dipshit stuff to say, I gotta admit. That crap is all over this site, 2006-2010.

It took until I abandoned nationalism to realize that the Americans are just fucking people trying to get by like the rest of us. Not hating the Americans, or condemning them all, doesn't mean I support their government, CEOs, reporters, or criminals. It makes me slightly more rational though.

No counter views? The Land of the [REDACTED].

Americans are not just like everyone else.

Here's what a selection of our enemies had to say about us:

http://mentalfloss.com/article/57121/42 ... orld-war-i

We are responsible for what our leaders, CEOs, reporters, rogues soldiers, and etc. do because unlike people in the rest of the world we won't tolerate actions we don't support. We'll kill each other in staggering numbers if we need to do so to enforce a point.

And our very first war was against the moslem pirates that the Europeans saw fit to appease and here we are again and we'll beat those fuckers down again if we have to while the Europeans complain about our lack of tolerance and introspection (but then they'll go home to their families at night and thank a God they spurn for the facts that Americans are willing to stop Islam before the Europeans have to do it.)

No, we're not like everyone else.

$1:
We are responsible for what our leaders,

We voted them into office and thus we can vote them out of office. Public duty and responsibility.
$1:
CEOs, reporters,

We either support them or show our displeasure by our purchasing of their product or refusal to do so.

$1:
rogues soldiers,

This is a bit more tricky but once public awareness of such actions there is generally a huge outcry against the solider(s). I do feel that some are railroaded but overall the system works well enough.

You are not responsible for Bush/Obama, and I do not hold them in my mind when I speak to Americans. Doubtful is the chance that anyone continues to fully agree and support their leaders, even if they voted for them. These leaders are people who are to blame for their own actions. The blind hope draw that is elections in North America is not a liability contract, or at least it shouldn't be, because there's very little the constituents can do about their leaders. No, there can be no new revolution in America.

Yes. But you are not Wal-Mart. I don't blame you as an individual for Wal-Mart. I don't consider your lack of public outcry against Wal-Mart to be a show of support for Wal-Mart. Even if you shop there, I don't believe you are responsible for Wal-Mart. You're an individual trying to get by in the world you live in.

You as an American individual are not to blame for the personal crimes of anyone employed in the name of your nation as some omnipresent principle of civic duty. You are responsible for yourself. You are not your leaders, you are not their religion, you are not their politics, you are not their crimes. You are a human being.

Sorry, chum.

But it's right there in our Constitution:

$1:
We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.

We the people.

It is from our consent that our government exists and it is also by that consent that Americans do business and etc. around the world.

We are absolutely and inextricably responsible for the acts of our government, it's agents, and our fellow Americans.

We the people.

Edit: We're more responsible for the acts of our government than any other people on earth.
