I'm not complaining at all. My opinion is that the people in the occupied territories or whatever they are called need to renounce violence. They are faced with a vastly superior adversary who can and will crush them. That is what is happening. It is a smack down.

A statement issued by Ms Disney says this is in "direct contravention" of both the 1907 Hague Convention and the Geneva Convention by exploiting natural resources in occupied territory. Settlements are also considered illegal under international law by most of the international community, including Britain.

Right, because actions mean nothing. So I guess the previously mentioned IRA were also always seen as the bad guys in the West because of the heavy anti-Catholic and strongly pro-Protestant media painting them as bad guys? Hell, the same "excuses" could be made for the FLQ. They were just misunderstood by a highly anti-French, pro-English media.
Oh and by the way DD, in Canada the media is definitely NOT what one would call "pro-Israel".

Three weeks of war between Israel and Palestinian militants in Gaza have pushed the territory to the brink of humanitarian disaster. Israel’s military on Tuesday broadened its offensive, bombing 150 sites, and one strike set ablaze the territory’s only power plant, filling the sky with smoke and cutting the electricity needed to pump water and sewage systems as well.

As the Palestinian death toll has risen to more than 1,220, including about 300 children, 22 medical facilities have been damaged and 215,000 people have fled their homes.

The longer the war lasts, the worse it gets.

“The Israelis and Hamas this time have crossed the Rubicon,” said Stuart Willcuts, the director of Mercy Corps for the West Bank and Gaza. “There is some kind of psychological marker that they have crossed, and they are not going to quit until we don’t know when.”

Even before the war, Gaza’s humanitarian situation was precarious. An Israeli-Egyptian blockade meant to weaken Hamas had decimated the economy, and half the population depended on food aid.

More than a quarter of Gaza’s arable land was considered a buffer zone and was unusable by Palestinians before the war, according to the United Nations. Now, 44 percent of the territory is a no-go zone.

This has increased the pressure on Gaza City, originally home to about a third of Gaza’s 1.7 million Palestinians, but now holding many more who have fled the front lines.

Exactly. If only the Israelis would promise not to hit back at Hamas for shooting rockets into Israel then the media would be happier.

This thinking is logical given that the majority in the media also oppose the thought of law abiding people defending themselves from criminals.

That wasn't the point I was making however. Twice when I've tried to explain that Canada's media is pretty much on the left and overall supportive of Palestine, DD came back with a link to an AMERICAN media source as proof that Canada's media is actually Israel-friendly.
