First of all I'm sure bart can speak for himself, second I proved my point. " half quote isn't a quote " exactly my point. Which started this whole thing when bart half quoted the president saying he is muslim. To which I replied out of context, half and manipulated quotes can be made to sound like anything. Which I showed how.

So its all good in the hood 8)

Cheers

Actually, there is no such thing as a half quote. You either quote of context, or you manufacture a quote by adding or removing words.

All you did was manufacture quotes.

If you go back to page 4 and read really carefully, you will realize
that wasn't the wager.

Back peddle? Maybe it comes down to you using words you don't really understand.

As well, it ain't got anything to do with being a mouthpiece, smart guy. It has everything to do with some hump with a chip on his shoulder making a public bet on a public forum and then failing utterly to prove it, and when taken to task, gets all petulant like with a hint of looming temper tantrum in the future.

Get over yourself.

I'll be happier when you show us all how a faithful muslim keeps his word by donating $100 to CKA.

Mohammed Mohammed:
Be not like the hypocrite who, when he talks, tells lies; when he gives a promise, he breaks it; and when he is trusted, he proves dishonest.

quoting
- 2 dictionary results
quote
/kwoʊt/ Show Spelled [kwoht] Show IPA verb, quot·ed, quot·ing, noun
–verb (used with object)
5.
to enclose (words) within quotation marks.

http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/quoting

One of the definitions of quoting allows for the enclosing any subset of words. This is why one can quote out of context. The gist (and thereby culmination) of desertdude's argument was to show how easy it is for one to quote out of context by taking any string of words whether it is a half-quarter-eighth-whatever-quote.

Nice try.

Suggesting the bet was that DD could cherry pick words in a post, craftily rearrange them, then throw them in quotations and attribute them as a statement by a poster in order to create a post that Bart 'loved Muslims' is absolutely ridiculous.

You might want to read up a bit more on those definitions.

The definition states that you simply have to wrap any text in quotes - the original significance from where that text originates is irrelevent. And that's all that DD did. I never expected DD to actually find a legitimate quote where Bart did indeed love all Muslims -- anyone who actually believed that would be the case is pretty dense.

But it was pretty obvious to his point that quoting does not have to frame the context of the origins of that quote. And manipulating those words only strengthened (not weakened) his argument.

BartSimpson BartSimpson:

Killing is bad if it's in a declared war, but if we do it sekritly then it's okay by you?

A war didn't need to be declared. More lives could have been spared, and this issue could have been averted a long time ago.

BartSimpson BartSimpson:

The American public got all the education they wanted on 9/11. If you want to be all touchy-feely about the islamowankers go ahead. We just want them dead.

So, you are openly admitting you want innocent civilians who are not terrorists to die simply because they belong to the same religious denomination?

I guess we should start killing Christians at the next KKK uprising. PDT_Armataz_01_37
