The Talibani don't seem all that fazed. The US is finding out just how limited the usefulness of those things really are. Big arms race against an enemy who's just as nuts as you - very useful. Trying to push your weight around in asymmetrical warfare, especially when you're going broke doing it - not so much.

But they're not. In a recent report, NATO told the Taliban they were planning to take a city, hoping they would melt away as usual. Instead, residents fleeing the city reported that the Taliban were increasing their numbers and digging in. Looks like they're getting cockier. You can't defeat the Taliban with military power - you need to change the conditions that give rise to them.
