MacDonaill MacDonaill: Other than demanding that the Federal Government operate bilingually, where and when has Quebec ever 'crammed' their culture down the rest of the country's throat?
Maybe you should try re-reading what I wrote before preaching to me about it cuz I'm pretty damn sure I never said, "The rest of the country's throat." Because if that's what I had MEANT, then THAT is what I would have SAID! Do you understand the difference between a segment and the rest of the country? Well Mr. Smartass, the segment I was referring to were the anglophones that lived in Quebec for many, MANY years. Has nothing to do with BC or Alberta or "the rest of the country". I guess that'll teach me for trying and write nice things about Quebec.

Brenda Brenda: Proculation Proculation: lol I've just seen that I have 3525 messages IN ENGLISH here and I still can't speak english in day to day life... Vive le Québec libre ! (sarcasm...) You're written English is great And yes, you can You just don't do it often enough haha yeah but we talked on the phone, you know I speak english quite bad I know my written english is quite good because I read/write a lot in english. Actually, all my infos I get on the internet are in english. But like you say, I didnt have the chance to practice it because I could not do a year of school in english (forbidden by bill 101) because my parents are french. I'm limited by that in Montreal, which is the "motor" of Quebec economy.

PublicAnimalNo9 PublicAnimalNo9: Quebec City is one of Canada's best kept secrets. It is a jewel that everyone should visit. Montreal is as multicultural as Toronto, without the pole shoved up its ass. So true. So very very true.

Bodah Bodah: Proculation Proculation: funny to see separatists to go study in Ottawa, in a bilingual university. Around here not so strange, alot of separatists work for the federal government as well that vote bloc time and time again. lol, like Gilles Duceppe and the Bloc. They like to bite the hand that feeds them.

Everytime I hear him on the TV it's always the same thing: ben là là... les valeurs du Québec.... (values of Quebec) Always the same thing. And he has his job since 1993...

Always the same thing. And he has his job since 1993... Je le sais. Sans des journalistes biasés, comme TVA entre autres, le Bloc n'existerait même pas. The media is very powerful in this province. Mostly leftist and Bloc & PQ bias. They constantly bash anything Federalist, thus supporting their very ''nationalist'' opinions on each of their broadcasts.

(halt french alert)

PublicAnimalNo9 PublicAnimalNo9: Ya know, it seems to me that the best chance to preserve the French culture and heritage in Canada would be for them to actively promote it. The art, the music, the architecture. I mean, as much as it pains me to say it, Quebec City is one of Canada's best kept secrets. It is a jewel that everyone should visit. Montreal is as multicultural as Toronto, without the pole shoved up its ass. The Gatineaus are spectacular, especially in the fall. There is so much more Quebec has to offer. It's just too bad a minority have spent so long pissing the rest of the country off. The money might have been better spent trying to encourage the rest of Canada to see what Quebec has to offer. To embrace the French part of our nation's history and culture instead of trying to cram it down a segment of the population's throat. Quebec City had a great chance to show it's self off to the rest of North America during the re-enactment of Wolfe Vs Montcalm. But Quebecois petty politics cut off their nose to spite their face. Isn't that they way it always happens there?

The Plains of Abraham battle was cancelled due to a minority group voicing their opposition louder than the majority that were silent and indifferent to the matter.

Whom ever is to blame, the result was that Quebec looked like a bunch of isolationist cry-babies.

No reason to call names and get pissy. If you meant Quebec anglophones, then perhaps that is what you should have said precisely to begin with. $1: I guess that'll teach me for trying and write nice things about Quebec. Yeah, with compliments that seem more like recriminations, who needs insults?
