Lemmy Lemmy: Because when you have a rebate, you encourage people to be cleaner. Businesses will invest in cleaner technologies when the incentives are positive. You catch more flies with honey than vinagre. Let's keep it simple if just visiting works.

Tell me Curtman, do you know if all these carbon tax happy politicians are driving green vehicles?? Does Iggy drive a Prius? It's one thing to talk the talk but if you can't walk the walk then he and McSquinty and their ilk (including any non Liberals with the same views, so I'm not being one sided here) need to shut the hell up about the environment and wanting to tax us for it.

So I wouldn't be paying a carbon tax? We went through all this about 7 months ago on CKA. Numerous threads. Do we really have to go through it all again? This and Schrieber? Please curtman, do us all a favour and use the search function. You can merrily read them all again.

What, does Stephane drive a Hummer or something? That's where you are going now?

Ooops sorry correct that, a tiny FRACTION of my tax dollars. They aren't your tax dollars. They are taxes on corporations, who pollute your environment. Yes they are my tax dollars. The corps get taxed. Those corps then raise their prices to offset the "loss" ( don't kid yourself, they will). Higher prices also means more sales tax paid. Therefore, I'm still coughing up to pay for it. Also, I'm not going anywhere claiming who drives what. I have no idea what Dion or the rest of them drive. It was a simple question, and quite frankly, a perfectly legitimate one. And if you'll notice I didn't just mention Liberals, I included non-Liberals that may have jumped aboard the carbon tax bandwagon.

Okay, let's talk more about how you believe the individual Canadian tax payer isn't paying his fair share.

Not paying their fair share??? Are you kidding me man??? The average Canadian taxpayer is paying WAY more than their fair share. The issue is, we ain't getting any value for our tax dollar anymore. More taxes will solve nothing, even on corporations. They can either leave or pass the increase on to the consumer. We need parties to quit squabbling with each other like 3 yr olds and get to the business of making Canada great again. Searching for new and inventive ways to generate more tax revenues isn't going to cut it. Actually using the money they do get for what it's INTENDED for would help greatly and be much appreciated. It's called RESPONSIBILITY. This goes for ALL parties Curtman, not just the Libs. Trust me, I detest all politicans regardless of their alligience. Why? Because just to grab that little taste of power, they will happily jump parties if they think it'll give' em a shot at it. They have no TRUE allegience, they just want their turn at being the big shot while bringing NOTHING of substance to the table.
