Tricks Tricks:
I was homeschooled at one point and taxes were still paid.

Also did better.
My wife, who was also a teacher, homeschooled one of our kids. Did him a world of good. Some kids just don't thrive in a classroom. It could be the kids fault, the classroom (other students) or the teachers fault. In our sons case, he was ADHD and showed some signs of fetal alcohol. It really helped him.

Regarding the taxes, I do think that should change, but my suggestion was to mtbr to get him to not pay taxes. He's boneheaded enough to do it! Anyway, he lives in Alberta, I thought they did not pay any taxes

Mr_Canada Mr_Canada:
PENATRATOR PENATRATOR:
Mr_Canada Mr_Canada:
Anyone who says that teachers are overpaid needs to go sit in the back
of a Gr. 7 class for an hour. Then think of the teacher who deals with that
fucking hell day-in-day out. The marks possibly hundreds of papers and
assignments each night.

I believe teachers deserve every penny they get... And much more.

One of my favourite teachers, my science teacher, used to stay in the
school, alone, until the last possible second (that being when the alarms
automatically turned on, midnight) marking papers and such.

Go deal with any teenager for any amount of time and I'm sure you'll be
feeling that you should have been paid for that mentally exhausting experience.

We appreciate your first hand knowledge as you are still in grade 7.

I'm in Gr. 11, tool.

Regardless of grade though, people, especially youth, I can tell are
incredibly annoying. We have "other shit to do" then school or paying
attention for any amount of time. And sometimes you get the class that
makes it their goal to break you down.

I want to be a teacher, but I don't think I'd be mentally calm enough for it.
Plus I don't have the Math's to be an English teacher... :x

A teacher's job is to be mentally strong
A soldier's job is to be physically strong

You don't think soldiers have to be mentally strong? You really are in Grade 11 eh?

and your posts in this thread have proven what?

that teachers will continue to defend the 12 hr workday - 12 months a year myth? :P

If a teacher has 185 days of school and actually put in 8hrs a day(which we know they don't)... 1480 hrs, vs someone who has a FT job and has only 3 weeks vacation (vs a teachers 12 or 14 weeks vacation)at 8hrs a day...1960 hrs...teachers = PT JOB! :P

Some of us spent 8 hours a day in the classroom teaching, all year, except for stat(s) and two weeks vacation. Syllabus/course prep, marking etc in my own time.
