While Kate is EXACTLY on the ball wrt this stupidity, I made up my mind to have everything in the house flashed up when I first heard about this moron magnet idea of sitting in the dark for an hour a couple weeks ago.
If a bunch of idiots want to sit around in the dark so they can have that warm fuzzy "I am helping the planet" feeling, more power to em.
Have them give me a call when they are willing to make an actual sacrifice for thier so called beliefs. Until then? They, and you, can go fuck themselves.
The point is to get an idea of what can be accomplished if people voluntarily play a role in reducing energy consumption. Nobody is pretending that an hour in itself will save the world.
Interesting that on one hand you claim the entire endeavour is pointless and ineffectual and that you have no problem with the "idiots" sitting in the dark, yet you turn around and power up all your lights and television - what exactly are you trying to accomplish by doing that?
Brilliant logic there, Wullu - sitting by yourself with all your lights on to "get back" at the people who aren't doing anything against you, nor doing anything you feel makes any difference.
