Robair Robair:
That's all because of Trump. One very good reason why our immigration/refugee policies have always been close to that of the US is because we share an unprotected border.

If the policies are vastly different you are inevitably going to get what we are experiencing now.

So what's your solution? Guard the border from Vancouver to Montreal?

No. This is all because the Trudeau regime decided to pretend some legal loophole all of a sudden made it impossible to protect the border. They told us through their pet media that all they could do now was look the other way and let the illegals pour through. The media then told us and some of you believed them.

Now it's too late. The process is swamped. We couldn't get what's here back to where they belong even if we wanted to. We're in the same predicament the Americans are in with their illegals.

What we can do is what Trump is doing. Enforce existing laws and consider new solutions.

How would we do that for our specific problem? I told you one way. Don't let the illegals think they're home-free once they've made their refugee claim. There are other things that can be done, but first we need a government that will stop ignoring the problem.

Or...first we need a government.

How the fuck are you going to suddenly protect the world's longest undefended border??

You are ranting from a place situated somewhere in la la land.

US - Mexico border is a lot shorter, with much easier terrain and the US has got a slightly bigger budget than we do. How's that all working out for THEM?

We start using tough talk jack boot tactics and the ones that are desperate to come here won't be so obvious about it. We don't have the budget to round them all up and then we really will be in the same situation as the US is with illegal immigrants.

There are reasons for the system the way that it is. The way that it has been for a long time.

Arrest them politely, tell them everything is going to be OK. Let them state their case THEN ship them out. (Unless they actually ARE a refugee of course)

Like I said, this sudden migration is Trump's doing. We should send him a processing bill.

So how do you work that? Tell them they're "not allowed" to cross and hope they listen? Shoot them if they do? Pick them up if they do and drive them to the nearest US crossing where they just might say no and not let the RCMP drop them off? Make sure the ones that do sneak across the border are scared enough they never report in?

Tired of these simple memes and simple solutions from simple people...

This new border jumping problem is sourced at the border-jumpers' loophole.

It was not a problem, then it was. Why was that? We have to wonder? What's changed since the time of a couple years ago and before that? Oh wait...I think I've got it. :!:

But if we eliminate this border jumper's loophole and what by whoever allowed it to become a problem, will that rewind us to the pre-problem days?

It's a start.
