The problem you saw was that the alleged 'socialists' and 'communists' were not the real deal. They were transnational globalists who were posing as socialists and communists to the extent that it furthered their objective of one world government.

FYI most forms of communism/anarchism, sans theories on "socialism in one country" Marxist-Leninist stuff, are deeply anti-nationalist.
