raydan raydan: I've always thought that if it's something you wouldn't say in public or to somebody's face, then why would you say it here. Because the cultural marxists don't dominate this space - you can get reinforcement for your bigotry here.

raydan raydan: This thread has been officially hijacked by the anti-hashtag crowd. This is, nobody here seems to be very pro-hashtag. I don't care less about them, but I do agree that this bozo should be shamed. He has a choice how, he could go online and apologize for his actions, or continue feeling proud for what he is. Hashtags are useless for social change, it's a band aid. The asshole in the video probably doesn't care and will never apologize it's the next person who's shamed that might care to much and when that happens the media will turn on the person who shamed them.

ShepherdsDog ShepherdsDog: This is Zuckerberg and Dorsey's main contribution to the world. Brand the platform as so important that the droids using it think they're important by association. Big secret: they aren't. Not in the slightest.

It's not the hashtag, it's that he's caught on video. He obviously does care, since when confronted he denied it, then bravely drove off shouting further insults. If you are that fragile that you spew hate but then kill yourself when exposed doing so, you probably aren't ready to live in this society. Have you seen some of the gifs etc that the righties here have posted about some enraged leftie looking stupid. If that leftie killed themselves for being shamed in such a way, would your heart bleed?

I guess you keep missing the point that the hashtag simply encourages people to be the change they want to see in the world. If you girlfriend were to look a bigot in the eye and say "Pardon me?", do you think she'd affect more of a change in people than just ignoring them? And a hashtag wouldn't have done it, but it would encourage her to do it herself. And when thousands of other do the same, perhaps the closet racists will finally see the harm their comments do and society will slowly change. Which is the point of the hashtag.

He doesn't care he laughed it off as he drove away and there lies the problem you have no idea how fragile someone really is and 95% of people in this World are probably not equipped to live in this social media society like Trump who doesn't think before he Tweets. I've seen Left and Right images of people made for one reason to attack and shame which is wrong. Everything we do or say can be captured on someone's smart phone and posted to a website like the Dirty.

People kill themselves for myriad reasons, we can't protect them from everything. To not confront a racist on the minute chance they will kill themselves is ridiculous. We'd basically have to wrap people in cotton wool to protect them from any uncomfortable feelings that might cause them to jump. I suggest we just tranquilize the whole population.

I'm sure that if it was a hashtag about Trudeau jaywalking, Brah would be having so much fun right now... but in this case, we must protect the racist.

What she would say to someone like that would be <censored, censored, censored> because she's tough as nails and that's far as it would go. They really want to make a difference create PSA's for schools, talk to them teach them why it's wrong because that's where all this shit usually starts from.

There you go again, making excuses for the racist, while ignoring the harm that their comments do to actual victims! Victims like your own girlfriend! Who give a flying fuck if the guy spewing racist comments is really a fragile flower underneath? Perhaps that will make him hesitate next time he decides to be Paul Revere and let us know the "Nigg*** are coming!"

Vancouver SkyTrain Suspects Hurled Racial Slurs Before Attack https://www.google.ca/webhp?sourceid=ch ... n%20racismI suppose the people who confronted these two women should have kept quiet. It's their own fault for speaking up, and those two women might now go and commit suicide. If you google skytrain and racist you get incident after incident. Mostly it only comes to attention when somebody confronts it and it escalates. But hey, let's all keep quiet about it and we can have an uneventful ride home and the racists won't commit suicide.

BRAH BRAH: They really want to make a difference create PSA's for schools, talk to them teach them why it's wrong because that's where all this shit usually starts from. It's too late, many racists are well out of school. (Assuming they stayed past 3rd grade) The best time to deal with them is right now. People respond better if they feel they are part of a group, and don't react well if they think they are excluded. By making them face up to their own actions, they are excluded. When they realize society excluded them because of racism, and includes those that are tolerant, they will choose tolerance themselves.
